BARN RENTAL

Accommodations

The Alexander Majors Barn accommodates approximately 150 people comfortably for receptions and 100 for lunch or dinner and other meeting events. The barn is 32 feet wide and 54 feet long (2,592 sq. ft.) with a loft in the upper East one-half of the structure.

Additional Items and Services

Have your photos taken in the house or the blacksmith/woodwork shops for an extra fee, or rent a side room for extra space.  Twenty rectangular tables and one hundred forty folding chairs, 100 metal & 40 plastic, are provided with your rental.  Picnic benches and tables are also available outside.

Decorating the Interior

You may provide materials of your choice (ribbon, plants, flowers, lights, etc.); however, they must be removed after the event. All fasteners used for decorations and hanging materials, i.e., staples, tacks, eye-screws, screws, wires, nails, etc., must also be removed after event. No paint is allowed in the barn—walls, floors, and ceilings may not be painted, nor furniture that is brought in for the event. Please Note: Majors Barn does not provide tools. Please bring your own tool kit (scissors, hammers, screw drivers, etc.), and a ladder if needed.

Set up and Tear down

You are responsible for set-up arrangements for tables, chairs, music, and catering, etc. When your event is over, remove all trash, debris, and leave floors broom-clean. Put away all tables and chairs in the stored locations. Remember to remove all fasteners (see decorating).

Kitchen

The caterer’s room has a refrigerator, a two-compartment sink, and a countertop work space. There is no range/oven for cooking, however ample electrical outlets are provided for coffee, tea and other small appliances provided by client.

Heating and Air Conditioning

The barn is heated and air conditioned.

Weekend Rates

Friday and Sunday, $750; Saturday $950. Weekend rental hours are for a 10 hour period between 8am and 1am. There are a number of ways you can configure your event to meet your needs.

Weekday Rates

Monday through Thursday – facility may be rented at $50.00 per hour (4 hour minimum).

Refundable Deposit

$300 reserves your space. This is a security deposit and is not a part of the rental fee. Deposit is refunded 14 days after your event, return of barn key, and inspection of facility. We do recommend that you reserve your space early; the weekends fill up quickly.
